Special Situations / Safety / Fair Play Guidelines

  • Supervise all feline players, especially those that are known to ingest foreign objects.
  • Inspect the towels for loose threads prior to use. Do not use damaged towels.
  • Remove the game immediately if the feline player chews it excessively.
  • Only use clean towels free of strong fragrances or cleaning materials.
  • Do not over-tighten the labyrinth! The feline will get frustrated and hate the game!

Variations / Levels

  • Newbies: make sure all treats are visible in the labyrinth. You can also reduce the number of knots or number of towels used.
  • Advanced Felines: add additional knots and towels to challenge the player. Additionally, you can add toys into the folds and knots.

Safety Reminder

All enrichment activities should be supervised by shelter staff. Remove any damaged components immediately and discontinue use if a cat attempts to ingest any portion of the enrichment item. Select materials appropriate for the individual cat's age, health status and behavioral history.
