Game Objective
Challenge your feline player to stop the moving train and rescue the treats inside the compartments!
Game Players
1 Brave Whiskers Socializer & 1 Green or Orange Jalapeno Feline (Optional: Additional, Bonded Felines)
Materials / Components / Setup
- Collect 3 empty tissue boxes, scissors or hole puncher, very thick cotton twine rope, and 10-20 temptations treats.

- Cut a hole in two opposite ends of each tissue box.

- Feed the thick cotton twine rope through one tissue box and double-knot the end of the rope. This is your train cabooooooooose!




- Feed the rope through the other two tissue boxes to create the rest of the body of the train. The rope coming out of the last tissue box serves as a leash for you to drag the train for your feline player to chase!




- Fill each tissue box with a handful of treats, evenly distributing the total number amongst boxes.


- Hide some of the treats in the train with packing paper for your feline player to discover.


How to Play / Rules
- Place the train inside the community lounge in an open area (move any obstructions).

- Holding the leash end of the train, allow the feline(s) to explore the new object in the space.

- Encourage the feline player(s) to pull, climb on, reach into, and paw the train boxes.

- Allow the feline(s) to hunt, and consume, the treats!



Scoring / Winning the Game
Each retrieved treat is 1 point. To win, the feline(s) should hunt all treats successfully! Be sure to record the score and include the total points possible in your notes!
Special Situations / Safety / Fair Play Guidelines
- Keep cords under your control at all times to reduce entanglement risks.
- Remove staples, tape, plastic, and sharp edges.
- Monitor group interactions to ensure all cats have access.
- Replace damaged boxes as needed, and do not leave the train in the lounge unattended!
- Place the setup on the floor, not a table or unstable surface.
Variations / Levels
- Newbies: enlarge box openings to make treats visible.
- Advanced Felines: Add paper filler or extra toys in the boxes.
Safety Reminder
All enrichment activities should be supervised by shelter staff. Remove any damaged components immediately and discontinue use if a cat attempts to ingest any portion of the enrichment item. Select materials appropriate for the individual cat's age, health status and behavioral history.
